Sienna Ranch Film Class For Kids

Sienna Ranch Film Class for Kids

Sienna Ranch is offering children a rare peak into moviemaking.  A small
independent film group, who will be using Sienna Ranch as a shooting location, have created a special course that will allow children to get a taste of live action filmmaking as it happens. The students will first learn the basics about making a film and interacting with the film crew. Then, they will be able to visit the film set and talk to key crew members about the process! Lastly, they will shoot and edit a short film of their own. This hands-on course is a once in a lifetime opportunity that will be as fun as it is educational.

FEATURING FILM INDUSTRY ARTISTS!

$240 per student. Ages 11 and up, Max 8 students

The film class being offered will learn from the upcoming short film being shot by a small group of artists on location at Sienna Ranch. Here are a few images in development for this shoot.

This diagram is a special effects shot that will require some practical elements to be used and shot on location. The crates will be hoisted on a rope and pulled up and filmed from below. Then an artist will match the lighting and composition, and paint a matte of the zeppelin high up, completing the illusion of a grandiose shot. The film class will be structured around this film shoot. The kids will learn many of the basics of putting together a film through this experience.

This painting is a shading concept in progress. The model will be built in 3D, shaded, and used in a live action short film.
