Junior Ranchers (4-6 years)A unique program designed for this special age when everything is exciting and magical. Junior Ranchers will love forming relationships with the ranch animals and learning their special histories (we have a very creative staff!) They will delight when the mother goat gives birth and the baby chicks are hatched. Watching from week-to-week with anticipation as the fruits ripen and the vegetables mature will nurture an appreciation for trees and plants and their gifts to us. Crafting from natural materials such as wool, wood, and medicinal plants, Junior Ranchers will come to understand that most of what we need we can get from nature.
Junior Ranchers will sing when it rains (not pout) and will experience getting dirty in the garden. Through experiential activities and projects, they will understand concepts of composting, recycling, harvesting, and reusing. Most importantly, Junior Ranchers will gain lasting memories and a solid foundation in respect for animals, nature, and the earth.
At least once per session, Junior Ranchers will have opportunities to try out a little from each of the program areas on the ranch- archery, carpentry, horses and farm animals, and nature immersion/survival skills.
